The vision of the West Valley coaching team is to help develop the athlete's highest athletic potential as well as an exceptional level of positive life coping skills able to transcend into their future success. The athlete will be taught how to manage her personal success and challenges by individuals who have a broad range of international exposure and technical expertise. West Valley team level coaches have experienced Olympic and National level success personally as well as professionally. The unique training approach requires that the athlete's coach connect with and understand the athlete's needs and design a program that is most beneficial to them.

Born and raised in Montana, Abra started coaching gymnastics at the early age of 12. She has coached all over the country including Montana, Oregon, Hawaii and California. Voted best Choreographer in 2000-2001 Abra has coached 4 elite gymnasts. Abra loves coaching gymnastics and being Team Director. In her spare time she enjoys swing dancing and raising her two kids. Abra Slater has over 30 years of coaching experience, coaching many National and elite champions. Abra owned a gym in Hawaii for 5 years. She has been with WVGS since Aug. 2005
